It's the 'War On Drugs,' Not the 'War For Drugs'" First is the news that smoking marijuana may not cause lung cancer, thanks to a property of THC wooden that seems to counter carcinogenic effects. This follows news from two weeks ago suggesting that marijuana may actually help grow new brain cells. The study was conducted on rats, which is a wooden far cry from proving the effect occurs in humans. Still, it's the first time an addictive drug had been found to promote brain-cell growth, so it's certainly worth investigating further. But those two studies are just a tease; the real news in the "war on drugs" this week is that some of our current and former soldiers are right in the middle of it.
