They were all cheap thin plastic things really more suited for inflatable beach toys collagen injection and broke after a while. The only unit I would really recommend is the manual pump made by and delivered with the METZELER dinghy. It's a large orange cylinder, about the size of one of those Orion flaregun containers, operated by hand (not foot), contains a pressure gauge and can be used to quickly inflate or deflate a dinghy. I think it'll beat any 12 volt contraption and if you can get your hands on one - buy it, you'll like it! Mine came with the METZELER inflatable which has long gone to that great dinghy haven in the sky - but the pump is what remains and will probably stay with me forever.
